Spacious common area with large table, cozy seats, and hammock. Beds have extra blankets and blade-less electric fans. Supermarket and pizzeria nearby. Mosquito nets on windows, individual fans, big lockers, and hot water showers. Extremely well-equipped kitchen.

Wonderful stay! the hostel was spacious and clean with a great communal area and one of the best hostel kitchens I've used. the staff were friendly and made me feel at home. the location was perfect, within walking distance to the party district but still peaceful at night. There were great local restaurants, yoga classes, and bike rentals nearby. the beach was just a short walk away, and although it had black sand, it was still a nice place to relax. I also appreciated the 11pm quiet curfew, ensuring a peaceful and beautiful spot to stay.
Make sure to bring bug repellent as there were a lot of mosquitoes, but I guess that's to be expected. an amazing and peaceful hostel, well-located, with good clean facilities and a quiet atmosphere at night.

Best hostel I stayed at in my 6 weeks of travel. Met great people, with awesome and helpful staff. Well-designed rooms with comfortable beds, individual fans, lights, power points, and mosquito nets. Exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Conveniently located for exploring, with helpful staff and great communal areas. Free cold drinking water and a fully equipped kitchen. Plenty of space to socialize in a calm and sociable atmosphere. Supermarkets and amazing juice vendor nearby.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

I had a fantastic stay at a cozy hostel close to the beach and center. The location was amazing, with a big supermarket right next door and the city center and beach just a short walk away. The staff were super friendly and made me feel welcome. The hostel itself was beautiful and had a clean and organized kitchen with plenty of space to hang out and relax in the common area. I highly recommend this hostel.

The host was very helpful and concerned about our needs. the room and shared kitchen were clean and well-equipped. the location is perfect, near everything you need to know and close to public transportation. We decided to extend our stay and the staff moved us to equally clean and nice rooms. Would definitely recommend and come back.
Felt well taken care of, no reason to complain.

The hostel is conveniently located, just a short walk from the town center, providing easy access to shops, restaurants. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and adequate ventilation. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. The friendly staff is always ready to assist with information and recommendations for bike rentals and laundry services, making the stay even more convenient.
It is disappointing to note that the staff did not prioritize communication and failed to address the issue of personal belongings being thrown away without proper consent or explanation.

I recently stayed at Pagalu in Puerto Viejo for a week-long vacation. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making my stay enjoyable from start to finish. With 24hr security, I always felt safe. Despite not being centrally located, the hostel had a great location close to the beach. The common area was spacious and a perfect place to relax and meet other travelers. I also loved the individual fans, lights, and power sockets at each bed, as well as the large lockers in the dorms.
I do recommend this hotel.

The hostel had a wonderful, homey feel and I felt welcomed. The common areas were spacious and airy, perfect for relaxing. The kitchen was well-equipped and I appreciated the eco-friendly approach. The location was great, close to the main street and the beach, yet still quiet. One highlight was the private room I stayed in - it was spacious with windows on all sides, offering plenty of natural light. An added bonus was the availability of mosquito repellent devices at the reception. I highly recommend this hostel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The hostel is conveniently located in the heart of a vibrant area, surrounded by numerous restaurants, bars, and a supermarket. It is also situated next to a bike hire place, making it easy to explore the area. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with well-equipped shared bathrooms. The communal area is cozy and inviting, with a well-equipped kitchen for guests to use. Additionally, the private rooms have windows on all sides, offering a pleasant view and plenty of natural light.
One minor drawback is that the fan in the room can be a bit noisy, which may disrupt sleep for some guests.

Great Location: the hostel is conveniently located close to the beach, shops, restaurants, and bus stop, making it easy to explore the area. There is also an ATM nearby for convenience. Well-Equipped Kitchen: the kitchen is stocked well with a large fridge, water filter for tap water, and free coffee. This is great who prefer to cook their own meals. Friendly and Helpful Staff: the staff member who showed us to our room was very helpful, providing us with all the necessary information for our stay.
Poor Exchange Rate: When paying in dollars, we received change in colones with a terrible exchange rate. This was the only place we encountered this issue.
